On December 27, 2024, motorist K.D. received seven traffic summonses following a motor vehicle accident in Middlesex County. A concerned citizen reported erratic driving, which led police to locate K.D. in a nearby parking lot.
Officers observed K.D. exiting a Jeep Wrangler, noted an empty tequila bottle inside the vehicle, and suspected impairment. After conducting field sobriety tests, the police arrested K.D. on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The defense challenged the officer’s conclusions and disputed the validity of the arrest.
